Historically, these techniques were used to create objects for daily life; items meant to be carried, worn, handled, and relied upon. Jewelry was no exception. Pewter thread, leather, antler, and natural fibers were selected not only for how they looked, but for how they performed over time.
The methods used here follow that same philosophy. Pewter thread is braided by hand, leather is selected for durability and flexibility, and each design is constructed to respond to the wearer. No two pieces age in exactly the same way, because no two lives do.

What materials are used in Nomadic Artistry bracelets?
Nomadic Artistry bracelets are handcrafted using traditional materials long used in Sámi jewelry-making, valued for durability, comfort, and longevity. Materials include pewter thread, colored copper thread, reindeer leather, reindeer antler buttons, pewter buttons, and sterling silver components. Some pieces also include optional magnetic closures for those who have difficulty with buttons.
These materials are known for how they age, soften, and develop character through wear, rather than remaining pristine or untouched.
What is pewter thread?
Pewter thread is a traditional Sámi jewelry material made from an alloy of tin and silver, with tin as the primary metal. Pewter is not a single metal, but a combination created for strength, durability, and beauty.
The pewter thread used in Nomadic Artistry pieces is imported from northern Sweden and is produced specifically for Sámi-style braiding. It is lead-free and nickel-free. This alloy is known for its brightness, strength, and the way it develops a rich, lived-in patina over time.

What is colored copper thread?
Colored copper thread is used in designs that include color within the braid. The color is applied to the copper thread itself and braided directly into the piece.
As the bracelet ages, the color may slowly wear in high-contact areas. When this happens, the copper beneath becomes visible rather than dull or gray. This aging process creates contrast and depth and is considered part of the character of the piece rather than a flaw. The way copper reveals itself over time is especially beautiful.
How do buttons and closures work?
Nomadic Artistry bracelets are finished with reindeer antler buttons by default, a traditional and durable closure that becomes easier to use with wear. Some antler buttons are handmade by me, shaped and finished specifically for individual pieces.
Upon request, closures may vary and can include pewter buttons, reindeer antler buttons, or sterling silver magnetic closures for those who have difficulty with traditional buttons due to mobility or dexterity concerns. Magnetic closures are securely attached and designed for daily wear.
If you think a different closure option may be a better fit, it’s best to reach out before ordering so the bracelet can be made accordingly.
Sizing & Fit
How do I measure my wrist correctly?
Measure your wrist using a soft measuring tape or a strip of paper placed accurately around your wrist, just below the wrist bone or where you prefer to wear your bracelet. The tape or paper should sit naturally against the skin — not tight and not loose.
Once you have your wrist measurement, add at least ¼ inch for comfort. This allowance is important, as all bracelets will stretch over time with regular wear. Bracelets that are worn daily will stretch more readily than those worn only occasionally.
How should a bracelet fit?
A Nomadic Artistry bracelet should feel secure but comfortable, with enough room to move slightly on the wrist. It should not feel tight or restrictive.
All bracelets will stretch at least ¼ inch over time through regular wear. Stretching happens through movement and body heat, not by sitting unworn. If a bracelet is only worn a few times a year, noticeable stretching should not be expected.
Fit preference varies, and choosing the right initial size helps ensure comfort and longevity.

What if I'm between sizes?
If you fall between standard sizes, you may request⅛ inch sizing increments. This option allows for a more precise fit and can be especially helpful for wider bracelets or those intended for daily wear.
When in doubt, sizing slightly larger is often the better choice, particularly for those who plan to wear their bracelet often or in less controlled conditions.
Can bracelet sizes be adjust after they are made?
Yes, resizing is often possible.
If a bracelet is too small, new leather ends can be added to increase the overall length. This slightly changes the look of the end sections but remains cohesive with the original design.
If a bracelet is too large, it can often be shortened by moving the button and loop or, in some cases, by replacing the leather ends. While downsizing is usually subtle, it is not always possible without creating new ends.
Nomadic Artistry offers free downsizing within one year of purchase. After one year, downsizing is available for $15 plus return shipping.

Wearing & Care
How should I care for my bracelet?
Nomadic Artistry bracelets are made from natural materials, and natural materials behave like natural materials. How you wear and care for your bracelet directly affects how it ages over time.
Some people follow care guidelines closely. Others don’t. Neither approach is “wrong”, but each comes with different outcomes. The goal of care guidance is simply to help you get the most life and comfort out of your piece.
For general care, avoid prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, and personal care products when possible. If cleaning is needed, use a clean, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, a gentle soap with minimal water and a soft brush may be used. Always allow the bracelet to dry fully before storing.
Can I wear my bracelet everyday?
Yes. Many Nomadic Artistry bracelets are designed for daily wear and are made to be lived in.
That said, daily wear will naturally result in faster changes to the materials. This includes softening of the leather, development of patina in the metals, and visible signs of use. These changes are expected and are part of what gives each piece its character.
Choosing a design and fit appropriate for daily wear will help ensure comfort and longevity.
What happens if I do not follow the care guidelines?
If care guidelines aren’t followed, changes may happen more quickly and less predictably. Water exposure, chemicals, and repeated stress can affect both leather and metal components.
This doesn’t mean something has “gone wrong”, but it does mean the outcome may be different than someone who follows care recommendations closely. Many people choose to wear their bracelets through everything and simply accept the tradeoffs.

Are pieces made to order?
Yes. Most Nomadic Artistry bracelets are handcrafted to order. This allows each piece to be made with care, intention, and attention to fit and materials.
Occasionally, ready-to-ship pieces may be available. These will be clearly marked as such.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Each piece is handcrafted and made to order specifically for you. Exchanges are only accepted if the piece has never been worn.
Exchanges may be requested within three months of purchase, provided the bracelet is new and unworn. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs related to the exchange.
Returns are not accepted.
If you have concerns about size or fit, reaching out before wearing the bracelet is important. I’m always happy to help determine whether an exchange is possible.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
If a bracelet has not been worn, it may be eligible for exchange within the exchange window.
If a bracelet has been worn, resizing is often possible. The approach depends on whether the bracelet needs to be made larger or smaller and on the original design. The best way to determine what’s possible is to reach out with a photo and a brief description.
How long will my order take to ship?
Turnaround times vary depending on the piece and current workload. Estimated production and shipping timelines are listed on each product page.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, international shipping is available. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination and are calculated at checkout. Buyers are responsible for any customs fees or import taxes that may apply.
Repairs, Custom Work & Guarantees
Will my bracelet look exactly like the photos?
Each Nomadic Artistry bracelet is handmade using natural materials. While the overall design will match the listing photos, slight variations in leather, braid tension, and metal tone are normal and expected.
These subtle differences are part of what makes each piece unique.
What if something goes wrong with my bracelet?
If you notice an issue with your bracelet, the best first step is to reach out. Many concerns can be addressed through adjustment or repair, especially when caught early.
Including a photo and a brief description helps determine the best course of action.
Do you offer repairs?
Yes. Repairs are often possible, depending on the condition of the piece and the nature of the issue.
In addition to Nomadic Artistry pieces, I frequently repair bracelets made by other makers when the original artist is no longer reachable. I’m always happy to help when I can.
Repair fees may apply depending on the work required, and details will be discussed before any work begins.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes, custom orders are welcomed and are some of my favorite pieces to make.
Custom work may include size adjustments, material choices, or design variations within the scope of what I offer. I also create bracelets for weddings, including sets for both the bride’s and groom’s sides.
If a bride’s or groom’s bracelet is designed as a bespoke piece, that design will be retired and not repeated.
Availability depends on materials and workload, so reaching out in advance is recommended.
How should I store my bracelet when I'm not wearing it?
Bracelets should be stored round, either buttoned or unbuttoned is fine, but never flat.
Storing a lived-in piece flat can damage both the pewter braid and the leather over time. Always store your bracelet in a cool, dry place, away from moisture.
If your bracelet has been exposed to water, allow it to dry fully before storing.
Do you offer a quality guarantee?
Yes. I stand behind the quality of my work.
If an issue arises within six months of purchase, and the care guidelines have been followed, the situation will be reviewed with Nomadic Artistry. Depending on the circumstances, repair or replacement may occur.
